(MITCHELL) - Four teenagers were hurt when the vehicle they were in overturned on Doc Hamilton Boulevard early Sunday morning.
According to a Mitchell Police report, 13-year-old Austin Prince and 14-year-old Caleb Riley, both of Mitchell, suffered bleeding to the head. Fifteen-year-old Alex Prince, also of Mitchell, complained of back pain. They were all taken to local hospitals for treatment. The driver, 16-year-old Robert Riley of Mitchell, complained of shoulder pain but declined treatment at the scene.
Police were alerted to the accident after a report at 2:49 a.m. after a report of three teens walking toward the dead end of Dale Street. The caller reported all three were covered in blood. A Seals and IU Health Hospital ambulance responded and Mitchell VFD. Police received a call a short time later that one of the injured was at Mitchell Manor and bleeding.
According to police, Riley was driving east on Doc Hamilton Boulevard near Meridian Road in a 2005 Ford Escape when he lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled.
Police say Riley was traveling at an unsafe speed on the wet road.
