(UNDATED) - Today high school girls can enter the Persimmon Festival Queen contest.
Entry forms can be picked up at the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce office at 533 West Main Street, or at Mitchell High School or Hatfield Elementary School.
The queen contest will be at 11:30 a.m. September 17 at the Mitchell High School auditorium. The queen will be crowned during the festival on the Main Street stage at 8 p.m. on September 19.
The sponsor fee for the contest is $30.
All contestants must be residents of Lawrence County and currently enrolled in school.
Entries and sponsor fees are due by September 1.
