(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville man was arrested Monday after he fled from Bedford police officers and then resisted arrest.
The incident began at 4:17 p.m. when officers went to the 500 block of 15th Street to investigate a case involving 19-year-old Michael Guess.
When officers arrived, Guess gave police a false name and when police asked for identification Guess fled down 15th Street. Officers were able to capture Guess about a block away.
That is when he began struggling with police, hitting one officer in the head with his elbow. Officers had to forcibly restrain Guess.
Guess is facing charges of battery, resisting law enforcement and false reporting. He was also wanted on a warrant for forgery and a warrant out of Orange County.
