(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after he barricaded himself inside a home in the 100 block of Dale Street Thursday night.
Lawrence County police were called to the home at 10:22 p.m. by Mitchell Police who had responded to the home after a report of a domestic dispute.
Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults says when officers arrived they could hear 42-year-old Ronald Gray Jr. inside the home shouting and tearing up the inside of the home.
Officers attempted several times to get Gray to come out of the home.
"Mr Gray eventually exited the rear door of the home holding a four-foot-long Samurai sword yelling at police to shoot him," Shoults says.
After being ordered several times to put the sword down, a Lawrence County officer deployed his Taser.
Gray was treated at the scene by a Seals ambulance crew and arrested.
He is facing charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
