(BEDFORD) - An Orleans man was injured after police say he crashed his car on Tunnelton Bono Road Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police no one was around the vehicle when they responded around 10:30 p.m.
The 1991 Toyota Camery had struck a utility police, fence and stopped in a soybean field.
Police spoke to a resident who said they heard a vehicle speed down the road between 10 and 10:30 p.m..
Police called area hospitals looking for the driver 55-year-old Jeff Linton.
Linton told hospital personnel he had crashed a 4-wheeler and had also fallen off a ladder earlier in the day causing his injuries.
Linton suffered a fractured back and possible bleeding to his spleen and was transported to Methodist Hospital for treatment.
Police say Linton was also wanted on a warrant for an earlier domestic battery case and may be the reason he left the scene of the accident.
