(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man was arrested after he allegedly raped a woman at his home on the north side of Washington.
Washington City Police went to the home at 510 Northeast First street last Sunday.
When police arrived they found a woman who claimed she had been raped.
The woman was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for an examination.
Police arrested 30-year-old Joseph Brown. He is being held in the Daviess County Jail without bond.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Brown told police that he did have sex with the woman, but that it was consensual. But police say Brown had multiple scratches and wounds on his face and stomach.
During an initial in Daviess Superior Court a preliminary plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf. A trail date is set for January 4, 2017.
