(BLOOMINGTON) - The start of a new school year is an exciting time in Bloomington, as city officials welcome returning faculty, staff and students.
Many new residents are unfamiliar with local services and city ordinances.
The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department offers a variety of materials for new residents to help them get acquainted with Bloomington neighborhoods including information about parking regulations, COB Utilities, and trash and recycling collection.
The HAND Department has "Welcome to Bloomington" magnets and brochures filled with information to provide Bloomington residents with an overview of City programs, services, codes and ordinances. HAND also provides "Quiet Nights" informational door hangers and Indiana University Student Legal Services' "Be a Good Neighbor" brochures.
To order these materials contact Vickie Provine at provinev@bloomington.in.gov, call 812.349.3505 or go to bloomington.in.gov/welcome for more information. The materials can also be obtained in the HAND Department, Room 130 of City Hall, 401 N Morton. Mailing service for the materials is not available.
