(BEDFORD) - On Friday the aroma of Beatle Burgers will tempt motorists to the parking lot of CVS.
The Beatle Burger was the brainchild of the Bedford Jaycees during the British music invasion. It was designed as a community fundraising project until 1999 when the Jaycees retired.
Then years later Denny Underwood and his friends decided to grill up those special burgers to benefit Bedford's Clothe-a-Child which provides more than 200 children with new clothing.
From 11 a.m. Friday until dark, Underwood and his chiefs will sell the burgers in the CVS parking at corner of 16th and L streets and again on Saturday until there are no more burgers left.
Large pre-orders may be placed by texting (812) 583-1187 before 7 p.m. Thursday. The choices of toppings are mustard, ketchup and pickles. Extra sauce also is available upon request. Be sure to leave your contact info and desired time of pick up.
For more information or to donate to Clothe-a-Child, call (812) 583-0550 or email underdog53@yahoo.com.
