(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Monday after his wife says he injured her and a child.
Lawrence County Police arrested 32-year-old Bradley Atwood of Bedford on charges of domestic battery and domestic battery on a person younger than 14.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, officers received a call from the woman at 6:36 p.m. Monday.
The woman told police she was on her way to the Sheriff's Department with her 11-year-old daughter to report a battery.
The woman told police she and her husband argued through text messages before the battery happened. Her husband told her to leave the house, but she wasn't to take his son. When her husband came home at 4:30 p.m. the couple continued to argue.
She told police she then went into the laundry room to avoid Atwood, but he came in the room and pushed her down, which caused pain in her back and buttocks. He then threw Sprite bottles at her and threw glass that shattered and cut her foot.
After the glass broke, the woman claims her daughter came into the laundry room crying and screaming. That is when Atwood allegedly grabbed the girl the arm and threw she on top of her mother.
She told police she attempted to leave with her sons, but Atwood wouldn't let her, so she left without them and called police.
Atwood was arrested and booked into the Lawrence County jail at 8:11 p.m. Monday. He posted a $755 cash bond Tuesday.
