(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after a crash at the intersection of Mitchell Road and 30th Street Tuesday.
According to a Bedford Police report, 67-year-old David Feiner of Bedford suffered internal head injuries and was flown to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital.
At 3:22 p.m., 48-year-old Kimberly Porter of Mitchell was driving south on Mitchell Road in her 2013 Chevrolet Sonic. That is when she saw Feiner, stop his 2000 Toyota Tundra, at the stop sign on 30th Street then pull directly into her path on Mitchell Road.
After the crash, she told police Feiner turned his truck around and drove back toward 30th Street. He ran off the road, went across a ditch and up an embankment before striking a utility pole.
When BPD officers arrived, Feiner was conscious but not responding, so he could not communicate to police what had happened.
Porter complained of pain to her head and neck was taken to a hospital.
