(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a home.
The Greene County Daily World reports, 24-year-old Kelby Roberts was arrested on charges of Level 6 Felony residential break and entry and Class A misdemeanor battery resulting in bodily injury after he allegedly broke into the residence of Alan Taylor, according to a probable cause filed by Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Davis Aerne.
Aerne responded to a 911 call from Carissa Taylor on August 25, saying Roberts, her husband, had followed her to the residence and refused to leave.
"I arrived at the residence and was approached by a shirtless male subject wearing blue basketball shorts and tennis shoes," Aerne wrote. "The male subject had blood all over his body and stated he was Alan Taylor. Alan stated the machete was over by the front porch of the residence."
Aerne was told Taylor had "slashed Kelby in the head, upper chest and arm to get him to stop" after he had reportedly broken down the door. Aerne located a machete with blood on the blade.
"Taylor stated he received a phone call from one of his sisters stating he needs to meet them on the road," Aerne wrote. "Kelby was drunk and they wanted him (Taylor) there in case he (Roberts) comes after them."
Roberts approached the house after the two women.
"Taylor stated he watched Kelby walk up to the residence and noticed Kelby was being aggressive so he locked the door," Aerne wrote. "Taylor stated Roberts was banging on the door stating he needed to let him in to talk to his wife."
Taylor proceeded to tell Roberts to go home.
"Taylor stated Roberts told him he was going to knock the door down," Aerne wrote. "Taylor also stated once Roberts knocked the door down and came inside he told Kelby he was going to protect his family."
The incident took place in the living room of the residence.
"Taylor stated once Roberts was inside the residence, he (Roberts) swung and Taylor dodged the swing," Aerne wrote. "Taylor stated he hit Kelby with the machete, but did not know how many times he hit him or where he hit Roberts."
Taylor received a small laceration under the right side of his jaw, a scratch and swelling under his right eye.
"Taylor stated at one point Roberts stated he was done and he was really hurt and needed help. Taylor stated he attempted to use blankets and sheets to stop the bleeding."
Carissa and Tranda Taylor, along with a minor, were in the residence.
"I spoke to Tranda who stated she was with Carissa earlier in the evening," Aerne wrote. "She stated she was watching a movie with Carissa when Roberts came home drunk."
She stated Roberts then proceeded to go after her. The two women proceeded to leave the residence.
"Tranda stated Roberts kept pushing Carissa into the walls as she was attempting to leave the residence."
Roberts was transported to Monroe County Hospital by his mother.
