(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University Police will soon be wearing body cameras.
The decision results from an evaluation by the IU Public Safety staff, with input from faculty, students and others.
Interim Superintendent and IUPD Chief Bob True says the cameras are "just a tool."
He sees them as a way to reinforce an already good relationship between the campus police and those they serve.
It's not clear yet how much it will cost.
The cost won't be determined until a vendor is chosen.
But the cameras, data storage and other associated costs are already built into the budget.
