(BLOOMINGTON) - IU Police Bloomington are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately at midnight on Tuesday near Dunn Woods, a wooded area south of Franklin Hall and east of Bryan Hall.
The crime was reported to IU Police at 12:20 a.m.
A male IU student, reported that he was alone and listening to music while seated on a bench in Dunn Woods when he saw a male pass in front of him. About a minute later, the student was grabbed from behind and a metal object was placed to his head. The student didn't see the handgun, but believed it was a handgun.
The suspect demanded the victim's cell phone and wallet. The man then fled on foot. The student was not injured during the incident.
Police are looking for an African-American male, approximately 5'9" tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, in his late 20's to early 30's. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket.
