NSWC Crane To Host Innovation Crossover Conference

(CRANE) - On October 12-13, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) will host the inaugural Innovation Crossover: The Shape of Things to Come Conference at the Bloomington Convention Center.

Conference participants will include members of government, industry and academia. This conference will not only boast an array of subject matter experts, but will also feature prominent keynote speakers throughout the two day forum, including Indiana Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, Dr. Chris Fall, White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, and Dr. Walter Jones, Office of Naval Research.

"The conference will serve as a catalyst in establishing innovative partnerships that will enhance our ability to conduct our technical mission. Innovation has become a foundational tenant of NSWC Crane's identity and this event serves to broaden our Innovation Eco-System network of partners across a variety of key technologies" said Kyle Werner, NSWC Crane Applied Science Department Director. The expected outcome will significantly increase the execution and development of collaborative relationships, public-private partnerships, foundations and infrastructure to deliver advanced capability for the following technology cluster areas: DoD Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, IT/Cyber, and Life Sciences/Biomedical.

Radius' Senior Advisor Becky Skillman said, "Our region is ripe with the talent and potential to spark a wave of entrepreneurialism and innovation. Through this event we want to see the area's ability to foster tech-based economic development come to the forefront."
