(FRUITDALE) - A family dispute south of Fruitdale Tuesday night left two brothers hospitalized and one of them charged with attempted murder.
Police were called to a home at 8:30 p.m. after a report of a shooting at in the 5500 block of Old Settlers Road. When officers from the Brown County Sheriff's Office, Nashville Police Department and Indiana Department of Natural Resources arrived, they found David Guy lying in the front yard with a serious head injury.
According to a news release from Deputy Greg Pittman, the injured man told police his brother, Kenneth Guy, had hit him in the head with something.
David Guy was taken by ambulance to Columbus Regional Hospital, then transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he is listed in stable condition.
In the meantime, police located Kenneth Guy on Melvin Road, near Trevlac. He "appeared to be having medical issues," the news release say, and was admitted to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital under police guard.
He faces charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and battery causing injury.
