(WASHINGTON) - The Washington School Board suspended boys soccer coach Quintin Myers on Thursday.
The school board has refused to comment on the suspension saying it is a personnel issue.
While Washington school officials could not comment on an on-going personnel issue, one of Myers' supporters, Mark Myers, who is no relation to the coach says the suspension was the result of a player becoming ill and hospitalized for dehydration following an after-game practice last week.
Players and Former assistant coach Chase Taylor fully support Coach Myers and say the suspension was is a "knee-jerk reaction" by the board.
Myers' father, former WHS soccer coach Kevin Myers, called the school system's attempt to get Quentin Myers to resign his coaching position, "bullying".
An executive session has been set for Thursday at 5 p.m. to consider the personnel issue.
