(WESTGATE@CRANE) - Friday, is the deadline for the WestGate@Crane College Fair 2016 scholarship applications. It is also the deadline for students, high schools, colleges, and universities to register to attend or prepare a booth for the fair taking place on October 4, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at WestGate Academy Conferencing & Training Center.
This year more than 30 colleges and universities registered to have informational booths at the fair. Event organizers anticipate more than 800 students attending, which is a similar number as last year.
Event organizer Samantha Nelson says as one of the largest college fairs in the region, the WestGate@Crane College Fair provides area students with unique opportunities.
"The WestGate@Crane College fair is a little different than your typical area college fair. Because of our location, we are able to offer this opportunity to several regional high schools that may not be able to attend otherwise. In previous college fairs, we have had high schools from several counties as well as colleges and universities from several states that attend. This gives the students a wide variety of choices when it comes to choosing a school for their future."
This is the fourth annual WestGate@Crane College Fair and the number of students attending has grown each year. The WestGate@Crane College Fair is a certified by the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC). Having this certification means the WestGate@Crane College Fair is dedicated to providing students access to accurate information.
This year, three scholarships totaling $3,000 will be awarded at the fair. Applications close Friday for these scholarships. For more information and to apply for these scholarships, please email: scholarships@bicindiana.com. Scholarship guidelines are listed here: http://bit.ly/2cRD5Sa
