(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested after police say she walked into a house in the 300 block of North Dunn Street and took the victim’s car keys, iPhone and wallet.
Police arrested 31-year-old Karla MacKinson after she told them she took the items with plans to switch identities with the victim.
At 12:45 p.m. MacKinson walked into the house and took the items. Other residents in the home at the time told police they didn't think anything about MacKinson entering the home because they were scheduled to have a house showing at that time.
MacKinson identified herself as "Jill" before leaving in the victim's car.
When the owner of the car and phone arrived home and discovered her property stolen she called police. She then activated her Find My iPhone app.
Using the tracking system police were able to track MacKinson to Martinsville, where Martinsville police located and arrested her.
Police also recovered the vehicle and other items MacKinson allegedly stole.
