(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County 4-H enrollment is now open for 2017.
Those interested in participating can enroll by visiting in.4honline.com or come to the Lawrence County Purdue Extension office, 924 16th Street.
The deadline to register is Jan. 15.
The $20 fee per child includes all Indiana 4-H program fees for members in grades 3-12. For Mini 4-H members (grades k-2), the fee is $5 for all clubs and projects.
Indiana's 4-H program is the state's largest youth development program for kindergartners through 12th-graders reaching more than 200,000 students across the state's 92 counties. Local 4-H Youth Development Educators in Purdue Extension offices coordinate activities.
In Lawrence County, approved adult volunteers teach young people specific skills related to a wide variety of subjects through hands-on, experiential learning. Youth also develop leadership and citizenship skills by participating in one of Lawrence County's organized 4-H Clubs.
Lawrence County 4-H is constantly expanding programming and ensuring there is something for everyone. Be on the lookout for new, short-term opportunities with our SPARK Clubs. Registration is still open for a Fun with Food SPARK Club.
And volunteers are still being sought to teach SPARK Clubs, so if anyone has a cool interest or hobby they'd like to share, contact the Purdue Extension office at (812) 275-4623 and talk to Lesley Lodmell.
