(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington’s Frank Southern Arena, located at 2100 S. Henderson St., is now open.
Named for long-time city parks board member Frank Southern, the arena is also the home of Bloomington Blades high school and travel hockey teams, as well as the Indiana University hockey team and the IU and Bloomington figure skating clubs.
General admission is $6 per person, plus $3 for skate rental. The arena holds public skating sessions daily, including the popular Saturday night Lunar Skating and Night Owl Skating.

Frank Southern Ice Arena is home to The Skating School ice skating lessons. The arena is holding free skater assessment from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Skate instructors will be available during this time to evaluate skating skills and assist with class placement.
Registration deadline for the first session of ice skating lessons is October 20.
Youth interesting in playing hockey in the arena's House Hockey leagues have until October 21 to register. Leagues are available for ages 6-12, including a girls-only league. For more information about playing on a House Hockey team, call the arena at (812) 349-3740.
