(SALEM) - A Campbellsburg man died after a vehicle struck his motorcycle on Ind. 60 on Sunday morning.
According to a Washington County Sheriff's Department report, officers were called to the intersection of Ind. 60 and West Washington School Road at 10:16 a.m.
Police say 78-year-old Helen Chastain of Salem was traveling west on Ind. 60 when she attempted to turn south onto West Washington School Road. Chastain turned into the path of a 2005 custom build motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Hank Stevens of Campbellsburg.
Stevens was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chastain, who suffered minor injuries, was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital - Salem where she was treated and released.
Washington County Sheriff's Department deputies were assisted at the scene by Washington County EMS, Salem Fire Department, Campbellsburg Fire Department, and the Washington County Coroner's Office.
