(BLOOMINGTON) - The Hoosier Hills Food Bank will be hosting a “Heroes Day” on Sunday, from Noon until 5 p.m.
This event will take place during their annual book fair at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Firefighters from six local fire departments will be on hand to educate families in fire prevention and showcase firefighting equipment from all over the county.
October 9th, is an excellent day for this event as it coincides with the first day of National Fire Prevention Week.
Members from local fire departments have teamed up to provide this county wide fire prevention opportunity. Together they will be providing fire prevention education, literature, and actual hands on training for children and families.
