(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University police responded to two sexual assaults that happened over the weekend.
The first was reported by a 19-year-old woman who told police she was sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house Saturday afternoon.
IU police were called to IU Health Bloomington Hospital around 9 p.m., where the woman underwent a sexual assault examination and gave a statement to investigators.
She told police that a 22-year-old male acquaintance invited her to a room in the fraternity house at 1412 North Jordan Avenue to continue drinking. She says that assault happened around 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
The accused male has hired an attorney and police are working with the attorney to set up an interview.
"The fraternity is cooperating with the investigation," IU Police Department Capt. Andy Stephenson says. "And we are interviewing potential witnesses.
The second incident happened on campus. That woman also went to the hospital for a sexual assault examination.
The woman said she wishes to remain anonymous and does not want a police investigation done at this time.
