(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council authorized an allocation of $27,500 from the Riverfront Fund to use as the matching portion of a grant to raze the old Huron School.
They also approved $63,800 from Cumulative Capital to bring LED retro lighting to the Courthouse, all but $4,480 will be rebated.
The Times Mail reports that the council was split on a decision to expend $78,100 to repair a portion of the roof on the former JayC building at Dunn Plaza. B&L Sheet Metal and Roofing of Bloomington was the lone bidder on the project. Council member Sam Craig, Jim Edwards, Craig Turpen and Keith Dillman opposed the request because there was no other bid on the project. McCracken and Mike Wright voted to approve the allocation.
