(CRANE) - Dr. Brett A. Seidle has been selected to join the Senior Executive Service as the Technical Director of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), an organization of approximately 3400 civilian employees focused on providing engineering and technical expertise to our nation’s warfighters.
Dr. Seidle brings exceptional technical and managerial experience to the position and will lead a workforce comprised of engineers, scientists, technicians and business experts.
Dr. Seidle, a long-time resident of Lawrence County, was previously the Deputy Technical Director (DTD) at NSWC Crane providing technical leadership and supervision for the entire organization regarding strategic direction and technical relevance. He began his career at General Motors, and was awarded a full scholarship through the GM Fellowship Program to attend Stanford University, where he received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He would later receive his PhD in Public Policy from Indiana University. He joined NSWC Crane in 2000 with the Failure & Materials Analysis Group supporting the Strategic Systems Program, and has subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility including Deputy Director of the Applied Science Department, Deputy Director in the Special Warfare and Expeditionary Systems Department, Department Director for Corporate Operations, Deputy Technical Director and, most recently, serving as the Acting Technical Director from mid-January
through March of this year.

NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), with focus areas in Expeditionary Warfare, Strategic Missions and Electronic Warfare. The Warfare Center is responsible for multi-domain, multi-spectral, and full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing Department of Defense capabilities, ultimately providing a decisive advantage to the men and women of the armed services.
