(LOOGOOTEE) - The Loogootee School Board approved a policy on civility.
Loogootee School Superintendent Chip Mehaffey told the Washington Times Herald, the civility policy creates a level of respect expected from employees when they talk to others and officials expect that respect to be returned.
The policy was approved after a recommendation by the state school board association.
Many policies that are adopted by schools are the result of problems or experiences in the past, but that is not the case in Loogootee, according to Mehaffey. There are no issues at the schools. Officials are just trying to keep up with what the expert's recommends.
