(MITCHELL) - An Orleans man was injured after he fell asleep, his pickup crossed the centerline and crashed into the trailer of a semi early Monday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 25-year-old Christopher Wheeler was traveling west on Ind. 60 near Lawrenceport Road when he fell asleep and his 2003 Chevrolet S-10 drifted across the centerline and collided with the rear trailer tires of a 2013 International semi tractor-trailer driven by 37-year-old Mario Ruize.
Ruize was traveling east on Ind. 60.
Wheeler complained of face pain. Ruize was not injured.
Wheeler was cited for traveling left of center.
Assisting at the scene was a Seal ambulance, Marion VFD and Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and both Mitchell and Bedford police officers.
