(PAOLI) - Seven people were arrested in Paoli on drug and other charges Monday after an accident.
According to a Paoli Police Department press release, at 12:30 a.m., there was an accident where the driver left the scene that lead to the arrests.
Paoli and Orange County officers investigated and their investigation led them to the Ritz Motel in Paoli. Police could smell marijuana when they got close to the motel and were led to a room occupied by Johnathan Babbitt and Mercedes Smith-Babbitt.
The allegation of a possible stolen handgun required officers to conduct a safety sweep of the occupants' room, which turned up four more individuals and a 16-year-old hiding in the bathroom, the release reads.
Police also found stolen property, hypodermic needles, baggies and spoons, according to the release. The paraphernalia tested positive for heroin and meth use.
Police say all of the accused, except the juvenile, are repeat offenders.
The charged people were:
A juvenile was arrested for possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, visiting a common nuisance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
