(BLOOMINGTON) - A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a school bus Friday on Walnut Street.
According to Bloomington Police, the incident happened at 8:10 a.m. Friday when a pedestrian was walking east on Walnut Street and was struck by a Monroe County Community School Corp. bus. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.
The bus was traveling west on East Miller Drive when the driver attempted to make a let turn onto Walnut Street. The driver struck a 33-year-old male pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The bus driver told police they had the green light, the pedestrian told police they had the walk light when he entered the street. A witnesses confirmed the pedestrians story of events.
The male complained of back pain and taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
