(BEDFORD) - Plaza Drive South will be completed by November 4, weather permitting.
Next week crews from Crider & Crider will be finishing the approaches and sidewalks and then the asphalt work will be completed.
Bedford Street Commissioner Dan Kirk says Crider & Crider planned to request an extension on the project to November 16 in case it is delayed by rain.
The project included installing water lines, storm sewers and sidewalks to extend the street south and west to the newly named Patrick Robbins Way, which links to State Road 37.
Crider & Crider is contracted to do the work for $3,248,459. INDOT is paying 80 percent of the bill with the city paying 20 percent.
This project will provide improved transportation infrastructure and economic development opportunities to the area by creating new access to nearly 98 undeveloped acres of industrial and commercial property that includes 40 acres of Indiana State certified shovel-ready property by bringing new north and south access to Highway 37.
