(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford will hold two public hearings on Stellar Communities projects today at City Hall.
At 4 p.m. the public can view architectural plans for the proposed StoneGate Arts & Education Center. The city announced earlier this month its plans to tear down the building at the corner of 15th and J streets and proceed with a new building instead of renovating what was once the JC Penney building, built around 1950.
A hearing on the downtown facade project is set for 5:30 p.m. Fifteen downtown business owners are currently included in the project. The estimated cost of the upgrades to facades is $826,800 with funding coming from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the city and building owners.
