(GOSPORT) - A 10-acre, 1-megawatt solar array is in operation by South Central Indiana REMC and its power supplier, Hoosier Energy. The renewable energy project is along Ind. 46 near Gosport.
South Central Indiana REMC and Hoosier Energy partnered to bring the 4,100-panel solar array to the corner of Ind. 46 and Flatwoods Road in Gosport.
The 4,100-panel array on Flatwoods Road is capable generating one megawatt, enough electricity to power about 150 homes annually as the panels rotate east to west to follow the sun.
South Central Indiana REMC serves more than 33,000 members across Morgan, Monroe, Brown, Owen, Putnam, Clay and Johnson counties.
