(SPRINGVILLE) - Bridge 113 on Springville Judah Road is now open to traffic.
Lawrence County Highway crews paved the approaches with base mix Thursday morning.
"In order to account for settling, next Spring we will pave the top coat," says Highway Supervisor David Holmes. "This bridge has been closed for a while and I want to encourage motorists to use caution because people aren't used to much traffic being on the road since bridge has been out. Be alert to people coming out of driveways and people walking or kids playing in the roadway."
The bridge over Spring Creek was closed after an accident in July knocked out a pier from under the bridge and caused other substantial damage. The bridge is located between Popcorn and Harrodsburg roads.
Bridge 83 on Logan Donica Road just off Logan Bottoms Road will be closed to all traffic starting Monday for approximately 3 weeks due to an extensive repair that needs to be done to the deck after a large hole weakened the concrete deck.
"This bridge has been only one lane for several weeks but no traffic will be allowed on it starting Monday," Holmes added. "I would like to thank CLR Inc for their timeliness in getting to work on these two bridges."
