(BEDFORD) - Firefighters from the Bedford Fire Department battled a mobile home fire at Collins Trailer Park on Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 12:26 p.m. Flames were shooting out of the south end of the trailer when firefighters arrived.
"It was heavily involved on the south end," says Chief Jon Wagner. "The men were able to get the fire out quickly and contain the fire to that south end."
The mobile home was vacant and being dismantled.
"The fire did cause extensive damage to the mobile home and damaged the overhead electrical lines," Chief Wagner added. "Duke Energy was called to the scene to inspect those lines and the service entry to the mobile home."
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
