(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was stabbed twice in stomach, Bloomington police are looking for the suspect that stabbed him.
Capt. Steve Kellams says the 23-year-old man remains hospitalized at IU Health Hospital Bloomington in stable condition after he suffered two puncture wounds to the abdomen early Saturday morning in the alley next to Brothers Bar & Grill at North Walnut Street.
Bar patrons told police the victim had been moving from table to table, causing problems and instigating arguments before bar staff escorted him outside the bar.
The man told police he went outside to smoke a cigarette when another man asked him to step into the alley where he was stabbed twice. The man didn't see a weapon or where the man fled after the incident.
Police have released a photograph from security footage of a man investigators want to interview about the incident. He is described as wearing a gray sweatshirt, black jeans and a black hat with white lettering believed to be a Chicago White Sox logo and a sticker on the bill of the hat.
Anyone with information about the stabbing can call Detective Jeff Rogers at 812-339-4477.
