(BLOOMINGTON) - In addition to the normal City of Bloomington closings this year, the City of Bloomington Animal Control and Shelter will be closed Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th.
Closing this weekend will allow us to pay closer attention to the animals in our care during a traditionally slow weekend for the shelter.
Staff members will be available to take lost reports and work at reuniting strays with their owners, via phone, over the weekend.
If you have lost or found an animal please leave a detailed message and phone number at (812) 349-3492 and a staff person will contact you.
The City of Bloomington Animal Shelter will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, November 28th.
During closed hours, we do have Animal Control Officers available at all times to handle emergencies, such as aggressive animals and injured animals. Please call (812) 339-1444 and an officer will be dispatched for these emergencies.
The City of Bloomington Animal Shelter, located at 3410 S. Walnut, is open on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 7:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Available and stray animals can be seen on the Shelter website at bloomington.in.gov/animalshelter.
For more information, please contact the Animal Shelter at (812) 349-3492.
