(WESTGATE@CRANE) - Haas Automation (Haas), in association with the Region 8 Works Council (R8WC) and the local Career Centers/Cooperative will host this year’s CTE Summit Friday, at WestGate Academy Conferencing & Training Center.
The Summit was developed by the R8WC in partnership with Indiana Region 8 employers and educational institutions to educate students to the career pathway options available, engage students in active thinking around regional opportunities and enlighten all who attend as to the power of Career and Technical Education.
Students from Region 8 CTE Centers will present their skills alongside post-secondary and industry representatives in Linear Presentations designed to connect the Indiana Department of Education Career Pathways to future jobs at local companies. Attendees will also have opportunities to participate in mock interviews and attend breakout sessions.
"With overwhelmingly positive responses following the first two, and our third becoming the largest summit yet, we expect to continue to help students explore careers and gain soft skills relevant to local industry requirements," said Christi McBride, Assistant Director of Hoosier Hills Career Center. "We love seeing the positive work focused on the students and industry in our region."
"The Gene Haas Foundation and the Haas Factory Outlet are excited to support the CTE Summit, as part of our continued commitment to manufacturing education in the state of Indiana," stated Tim Taylor, Vice President of Haas Factory Outlet, Chicago - A Division of Midwest Machinery Resources. "We look forward to a long term relationship that extends beyond this year's event."
The CTE Summit will take place Friday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Eastern Time.
