(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested Monday after he allegedly drug a woman around by her hair.
Mitchell Police arrested 47-year-old Roger Walls on charges of domestic battery and intimidation with a deadly weapon. He is being held on a $20,000 surety, or $2,005 cash.
According to Mitchell Police Chief Steve Blair, Walls was upset with the woman because she had been at work all day instead of home where the two lived together.
When she arrived home at Compton Apartments, Walls became violent.
The woman told police Walls had drug her around by her hair, smacked her in the head and forced her to sit on the floor.
When the woman started to yell for help hoping a neighbor would hear and call 911, that is when Walls allegedly threatened to hit her with a hammer if police were called.
The woman was finally able to call police at 5:10 p.m. and Mitchell officers rushed to her apartment and arrested Walls.
The woman showed signs of injury, but refused medical attention.
