(BLOOMINGTON) - One person is dead following an accident Saturday afternoon on Ind. 37.
The accident involving a Seals ambulance happened at 4:34 p.m. at the corner of Ind. 37 and South Victor Pike.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Department Capt. Ryan Davis, the ambulance, which had its lights and sirens on, was traveling northbound on Ind. 37 when it T-boned a PT Cruiser traveling westbound on South Victor Pike.
The driver of the PT Cruiser was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by an Indiana University Health medic.
The coroner was enroute as of 5:15 p.m., as were accident re-constructionists, Davis added.
IU Health dispatched three more ambulances to the scene.
The patient inside the ambulance involved in the crash was transported to the hospital by another ambulance.
