(BEDFORD) - Three people were injured in a head-on collision at Fifth Street and Bell Back Road on Monday.
The accident happened at 5:12 p.m.
According to a Bedford police report, 62-year-old James Martin of Bloomington was traveling east on 5th Street, just east of Bell Back Road when for an unknown reason he drove his 2016 Nissan Versa across the centerline colliding head-on with a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 42-year-old Tessa Miles.
Martin Sr. and his son, 38-year-old son James Martin, were both trapped inside the vehicle. They were freed by Bedford Fire Department firefighters. Both suffered incapacitating injuries to their entire body.
Miles was not injured. Her 10-year-old passenger, Kendal Spires, suffered a fractured or dislocated arm.
