(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour woman is faces felony charges after firing two shots during a domestic dispute Sunday night east of Seymour.
Seymour Police arrested 39-year-old Crystal J. Michelle Black on Level 6 felony charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery in the presence of a minor after a domestic fight in the 300 block of Mutton Creek Drive.
According to a report from Jackson County Officer Rick Meyer, officers were alerted to the dispute at about 9:50 p.m.
When police arrived, Black's boyfriend was outside the home and told police a woman was inside the house in their bedroom and she had fired a gun at least two times.
Police went inside to get Black to come out of the bedroom but did not receive any response.
Officer Meyer then asked his dispatchers to call her, and she agreed to come outside the bedroom.
During the investigation, police determine Black and the man had been arguing, and it escalated to the point where Black struck the man in the face with her fist. She then took a gun from a safe in the bedroom closet and shot rounds into the direction of the master bathroom, where the man was.
A 14-year-old girl was inside the house at the time of the incident.
Black was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown where she is being held without bond pending her pending her initial hearing.
Officer Jesse Hutchinson and Reserve Officer Greg Murphy assisted along with Indiana State Police Trooper Brent Lykins.
