(SPRINGVILLE) - A Bloomington man was injured after he passed out while driving and drove through several fences Monday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 48-year-old J.E. Scheid was traveling east on Ind. 58, near Armstrong Station Road when, for an unknown medical reason, Scheid passed out. His 2011 Infiniti EX35 ran off the roadway through a east-west running fence in the 1990 block of Ind. 58. The vehicle continued through another set of fences running north-south and the car ramped off a driveway, traveled over another fence and continued until it struck a tree near an embankment.
Scheid complained of lower leg pain and was taken by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to Monroe County Hospital for treatment.
Assisting at the scene was the Perry Volunteer Fire Department and the Bedford Fire Department extrication unit.
