Counterfeit Money Found In Greene County

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning regarding counterfeit money.

According to a new release, police are investigating four incidents that have occurred since December 1 in Greene County and the surrounding areas.

Bills of interest include $100, $50, and $20.

Police say residents and merchants can use the following tips to determine if the bill is counterfeit:

Check security features, including red/blue fibers, security thread after 1990, color shifting ink, micro printing, and watermark portrait after 1996.
