(DUBOIS) - A Dubois 4-H team placed 9th out of 20 teams at the State Crops Career Development Event (CDE) held at Purdue University.
The team was required to identify crop and weed plants and seeds, complete in creative problem-solving activities, grade grain and complete a knowledge exam.
Participating were members of the Dubois County 4-H Junior Team (Grades 3-8) comprised of Dylan Weyer, Adam Weyer, Konner Betz and Braxton Mitchell.
In order to advance the state contest, the team had to qualify from an area Crop CDE event that was held in Martin County on November 10th.
Crops Career Development Event is open to 4-H and FFA members and is designed to teach youth skills necessary in the agronomy career area.
