(BLOOMINGTON) - Last week, Indiana State Troopers from the Bloomington Post were assisting the Indiana Parole Agency, Indiana Department of Corrections, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms with compliance checks of parolees in the Bloomington area. While making contact with the residents at 811 Larkspur Lane in Bloomington, officers noticed criminal indicators including the odor of marijuana.
It was then determined that marijuana was being smoked in the presence of a 2-month-old baby.
Troopers were then able to secure the house and obtain a search warrant. The search by troopers and officers from the other agencies that followed revealed evidence of dealing marijuana. Troopers located and seized nearly 7 pounds of marijuana, two handguns, and approximately $40,000 in cash.
They arrested 23-year-old Eddie Baker Jr. of Bloomington on Level 6 felony charges of dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent.
Police also arrested 25-year-old Donavon Spears of Bloomington on a warrant to revoke probation.
If you have information on illegal drug activity in your area, please contact the Indiana State Police at (812) 332-4411. Your tip can remain anonymous.
