IU Police Arrest Two Bloomington Men On Drug Charges

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University Police arrested two Bloomington men on drug charges after they found LSD, meth, marijuana and other drugs after they searched an apartment on Friday night.

Officers armed with a search warrant entered the apartment complex on East McCracken Way on the city's east side around 7:30 p.m. in reference to an investigation that began nearly two months ago.

"Over the course of the investigation, officers made several purchases of marijuana and MDMA," wrote Capt. Andy Stephenson, in a news release.

Police arrested 25-year-old Matthew S. Goodwin and 30-year-old Bryant A. Cleasant after they found approximately 263.9 grams of marijuana, 11 Xanax tablets, 13 squares of blotter LSD, a large amount of MDMA also know as a Molly or Ecstasy, meth and $1,281.07 in cash.

Goodwin is facing felony charges of maintaining a common nuisance, two counts of dealing marijuana, dealing in a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of meth, two misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, 10 counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cleasant is facing felony charges of maintaining a common nuisance and three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Capt. Stephenson says, neither Goodwin nor Cleasant are affiliated with Indiana University.

IUPD officers were assisted during the investigation by Bloomington Police Department detectives.
