(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University police arrested 21-year-old Si Chen on a felony rape charge after a female student reported she had been sexually assaulted by him.
According to IU Police Lt. Craig Munroe, the incident happened at Chen's Tulip Tree apartment. The two knew each other.
The 18-year-old female told police that Chen offered her an alcoholic beverage, which she declined. A short time later he raped her. Chen told police the woman did say no, but he didn't take her seriously.
The woman went to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a sexual assault examination Friday evening were police interviewed her.
Chen was arrested and taken to jail around 1 a.m. Saturday.
