(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Schools Board members approved pay raises and stipends for their administrators.
The Times Mail reports that teachers are under a two-year contract that provides teachers, rated "highly effective" or "effective," with an annual base increase of $500. This year, those with a bachelor's degree will receive a $625 stipend and those with a master's degree will receive a $750 stipend.
The board approved that administrators will receive the $500 base salary increase as well as the $750 stipend since all of them hold master's degrees.
The board also issued Superintendent Steve Phillips a stipend of $2,250. He has never taken a base increase on his salary.
