(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested last week after he allegedly punched his wife in the face.
Lawrence County Police arrested 34-year-old Christopher Hernandez on a charge of domestic battery.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on November 11, a woman went to the Lawrence County Police Department to report Hernandez hit her adult daughter.
The woman told police her daughter came to her home and had a bruise over one of her eyes.
Police spoke to the daughter, who told them Hernandez, her husband, became angry after she returned home later than he wanted. She had groceries and Hernandez was carrying them into the home when he became violent. She says he threw some of the groceries at her. She then alleged he punched her in the face causing her pain and her face to bruise and swell.
Hernandez was arrested on Wednesday morning and remains in jail today on a $5,000 surety or $505 cash bond.
