(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after he fled from police and was later found with meth.
On Monday, Mitchell Police arrested 28-year-old Justin Bowden on charges of resisting arrest by fleeing and possession of meth.
According to Mitchell police, early Monday morning a Mitchell officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding at Hancock Avenue and 8th Street. As the vehicle slowed and was pulling to the side of the road, Bowden, who was a passenger in a vehicle jumped from the moving vehicle, fell, got up and took off running.
The officer ordered Bowden to stop, but he continued to flee. The officer caught him and he was arrested. The officer found a small amount of meth in Bowden's jacket pocket.
He is being held at the Lawrence County Jail on a $7,500 surety or $755 cash bond.
